Terapede Systems, a venture-funded company, is developing high resolution Flat-Panel X-ray Detectors (FPD) that deliver 2.5 to 5 times better image resolution with 40% or better dose (radiation) reduction than existing systems.
Terapede Systems is based in Campbell, near San Jose, California on the west coast of the United States. We are developing CMOS-based FPDs that enable diagnosis with the highest X-ray image quality while maintaining and managing patient safety with high resolution and low radiation. The company uses a unique patented 3D 4-sided CMOS structure enabling any X by Y dimension FPDs. These are expected to shorten diagnosis times and improve accuracy, reduce the burden on the patient's body, and reduce medical costs.
Our Strengths
Terapede Systems Flat Panel digital X-ray Detectors (FPDs) are available in standard and custom configurations. We develop and build a variety of medical X-ray FPDs to meet your needs. For example, a 24x30cm FPD provides unprecedented high resolution images and low dose X-rays. A larger 43x43cm FPD produces detailed, high resolution images with unprecedented dose efficiency and maximizes field of view. FPD sizes are customized based on the FPD's environment and application to provide maximum image processing speed and resolution for the application.
The company's current technology development and sales efforts are focused on medical X-ray applications with Fortune 100 medical companies, however the detector's technology can be applied to many large area X-ray applications such as manufacturing lines, non-destructive testing (NDT), component inspection, security, etc.
